This area of counselling requires a therapist to be skilled and knowledgeable around deep feeling and emotions. When we struggle with loss it is a very personal journey and we need all the support we can muster. There are many areas in which we can grieve a loss or separation.
All these losses, and many more areas of loss, are uniquely experienced by the individuals involved. We all grieve differently and there is no specific path or time frame through grief, only your own personal journey. I have developed my personal therapeutic approach to working with loss and bereavement over several years in psychotherapeutic practice. Having volunteered with the Samaritans and Accord has brought me in contact with high levels of personal grief and loss, while in private practice I have worked with loss and grief on a daily basis. Specific training in Person-Centered Therapies like Emotion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy allows me to attend to your specific needs during your journey through loss and bereavement. I have also undertaken specialist loss and bereavement training in dealing with adult grief, as well as specific training tailored for working with children and teens experiencing loss and bereavement. |
